Our step-by-step process for custom invitations will allow our clients to create one-of-a-kind invitations for their events. Please plan on ordering your invitations 3-6 months before your event date to allow sufficient time for design, printing, production, and shipping (if applicable). Limited amount of rush orders are taken per month. Custom rush orders are orders that require a turnaround of less then 5 weeks.
The process starts with a complimentary consultation either in person or by phone in which we get to know you and learn all about your event! This is your opportunity to review our existing designs and discuss your own style and ideas.
Quote & Contract
During your consultation you will be provided with a quote and a contract. The design process will begin one business day after we receive the signed contract, a minimum 50 % deposit, and your complete text.
If a custom order is needed within a 5 week turnaround it is considered a rush and full payment will be due at the time of the order. Order may also incur a rush charge. Limited amount of rush orders are taken per month.
Design & Proof
A design, based on our consultation, will be presented for your review via .pdf file by email. For Custom Invitations- 4 design proofs and 2 consultations are included. Existing Paper Crew designs ("Ready-to-Order" invitations) - two proofs are included, subsequent proofs are $25 each.
Each proof will require you to review for grammar, spelling, punctuation and accuracy of information. Your signature and date is also required on each proof. Upon your approval, the files will be sent to the printer and production will begin. The remaining balance is due at this time.
Printing & Production
Depending on the complexity of your order, its printing type, materials used, and parts, it will be ready between 3-8 weeks. We offer both digital and hand calligraphy which takes approximately 2-3 weeks for orders less then 150.
Shipping & Handling
You may pick up your order by scheduling a pick up time, or we can ship it to you anywhere in the world via USPS, UPS, or FedEx for a fee.
Custom Ink Options
Items printed on a press may be done in either Process color (CMYK) or Spot color. Spot color is created by mixing colors of solid ink together in precise proportions to get a specific color. The most common standard for this exact color matching uses 14 base colors and is published by Pantone®. Pantone® is the international standard for precision color matching. We use the Pantone® Matching System (PMS) for our ink choices.
Your wedding invitations are a functional detail. They should spell out all essential wedding info -- who's getting married, who's hosting and where, and when and what time the ceremony will take place. Just about every invite includes the address of the ceremony and RSVP information.
